About the Event
The Prince of Wales Fairbridge Farm School, a residential school for underprivileged British children, opened in 1935. It was established by the Fairbridge Society and located at Cowichan Station, in the Cowichan Valley
Join us for a talk about the British Home Child Migration on Sunday, September 17th at Sylvan United Church, 985 Shawnigan Mill Bay Rd, at 1:30. The talk will be presented by Patricia Skidmore, whose mother was a student at Fairbridge. Patricia has written two books about her Mother’s experience. Patricia will also talk about a Shawnigan connection with Fairbridge.
